Carwiz celebrates its first year of operation in Poland!
- As Inter Fleet we have been present on the market since 2015. Mainly we have been dealing with business rentals and at some point we felt our offer lacked a modern and innovative brand offering short-term rentals for tourists from abroad. The dynamically developing Carwiz turned out to be just the thing we were looking for and so, at the end of 2019, we joined the world-wide Carwiz family and started building the Polish branch from the scratch. As with every newbie, our investment in marketing could only be limited and we had to become recognisable without spending millions of zlotys on promotion. We took the “slow but steady development” approach and one year on I am confident to say we found our niche on a very competitive Polish market and we are in a very good place for further development - comments Tomasz Pulter, CEO of Inter Fleet Franchise Sp. z o.o., which represents the Carwiz brand in Poland.
Over 650,000 kilometers traveled
During the first year of operation, customers made over 650 thousand kilometers using rented cars from Carwiz. It's as if they went around the globe 16 times. The most frequently chosen additional options were related to insurance and child safety.
The fleet of vehicles used by Carwiz customers in Poland consists of several dozen cars from all groups. The most popular are the CDMR cars, an acronym that refers to ever popular "compact cars" such as the Kia Ceed or Seat Leon. Most often, drivers held Polish nationality, but there Carwiz also served customers from such exotic and distant countries as Japan.
Carwiz is present in three cities - Warsaw, Gdańsk and Krakow. Each of them has offices at the airport and in the city center. The city with the highest sales is Gdańsk. The popularity of Gdańsk results from its geographical location: on the coast and close to seaside holiday resorts.
What’s in store for 2021?
Despite the coronavirus pandemic, Carwiz in Poland is not slowing down. In 2021, the company plans to open another two locations in cities with high airport traffic. When it comes to fleet investments, the offer will include the latest Lexus models. Carwiz also does not forget about its employees - in 2021 it will conduct a series of customer care training courses to provide customers with an even higher quality of services.
- The fall-winter lockdown significantly thwarted our development plans, but the emergence of an effective vaccine and a high number of vaccinated people should lead to the normalization of life in Poland relatively quickly. And then people will start traveling and renting cars again. This is an opportunity for us to continue building a strong rent-a-car brand in Poland - sums up Wojciech Antkiewicz, Managing Director of Carwiz Polska.
